Highland Valley Elder Services provides home-delivered "Meals on Wheels" and should be reached directly at (413) 584-6784.

Congregate meals are offered at the Hadley Senior Community Center Monday through Friday at 11:45 A.M. Please call 586-4023 at least two days ahead to register for a meal. There is a suggested donation of $3 for those age 60 and older, guests of elders pay $8.50. Update: Congregate Meals are available temporarily to eat in or to go. Call us 48 hours in advance to order your meal.

The SNAP Program (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) helps low-income individuals and families buy healthy, nutritious foods. A household’s monthly benefit depends on household size, income, and expenses. Call the SNAP Hotline at 1-866-950-FOOD or the Council on Aging at (413) 586-4023 to apply. If you are a over 60 and wish to apply, be sure to gather all of your medical expenses for the year prior to your application date, including insurance and Medicare premiums and all co-pays as well as dental costs and prescription and over-the-counter items; these expenses are used to calculate your monthly amount to your benefit.

Brown Bag: Food For Elders is a program of The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. Bags of groceries are distributed at the Senior Community Center on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 10:30-3:30 P.M. Call the Council on Aging at (413) 586-4023 or the Food Bank at (413) 247-9738 or 1-800-247-9632 if you would like to apply.

Amherst Survival Center Senior Mobile Nutrition Program: Hadley seniors are eligible to receive food from the Amherst Survival Center and via its monthly delivery to the Hadley Senior Center. Sign up for the program by contacting the Amherst Survival Center Food Pantry Coordinator at 413-549-3968 x104 or email pantry@amherstsurvival.org.
