Description of Services

  • Management of the Town’s cash and responsibility for the deposit, investment, and disbursement of all funds belonging to or held by the Town. 
  • Issuing debt on behalf of the Town following Town Meeting authorization
  • Working with the Town Administrator, Financial Advisor and Bond Counsel as needed for the sale of long-term bonds and short-term notes.
  • Maintaining an efficient cash management system as well as reconciling cashbook balances with the Town Accountant. 
  • Planning the timing of borrowing to meet departmental needs while minimizing interest payments and minimizing debt payment impact on the tax payers. 
  • Acting as the custodian of all tax title accounts, preparing and maintaining tax title deeds, preparing tax title documents and working with the Town’s tax title attorney to resolve delinquent accounts.

The Treasurer is responsible for all revenues and financial obligations billed and received by the town. For payment of real estate and personal property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, water fees, and sewer fees, you may contact the Collector’s office.
