DPW Field Supervisor ( Full- time Position)
The Town is seeking a qualified Field Supervisor to oversee and coordinate daily operations within the Department of Public Works, including roadway maintenance, water and sewer systems, stormwater infrastructure, equipment operations, and snow and ice control. This position serves as a hands-on supervisor responsible for directing staff, assigning and monitoring work, and ensuring the safe and efficient completion of public works projects and services. The Field Supervisor coordinates personnel, equipment, and materials, responds to resident concerns, and participates in emergency response, including an on-call rotation and required overtime.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in public works, construction, or heavy equipment operation, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B with air brake and tanker endorsement, and a Hoisting Engineer License (2A/4G) are required. The ability to respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours is essential. Preferred qualifications include Water Operator (T1/D1) and/or Wastewater Operator certification (Grade 3 or Operator in Training). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a thorough knowledge of public works operations, safety practices, and heavy equipment.
