PLEASE NOTE: Guidance from the State Department of Public Health is changing daily.

Recently, a new coronavirus—Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)—was detected in Wuhan, China. This novel coronavirus causes a respiratory (lung) infection.

There has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. On March 2, DPH announced the first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 identified by the Massachusetts State Public Health Laboratory. CDC continues to closely follow the rapidly evolving situation.
