Sewer Smoke Testing
Posted on Dec 13, 2010

Residents and businesses in the Mountain Farm Mall area are advised that the Town of Hadley will conduct smoke testing of the sewer system.  Non-toxic and non-straining white smoke is pumped into the sewer system to detect leaks from manholes, roof leaders, storm drains and other direction connectins to the sewer system.

Smoke could enter your house of business if there is a dry trap or basement flood drain.  In the unlikley event that smoke enters your premises, do not be alarmed.  Open dorrs and windows to ventilate the building and contact the people outside performing the smoke test.  They will assist you in locating the source that allowed smoke to enter your building.

You will receive notice 24 to 72 hours before the smoke testing begins (weather pemitting).  It is not necessary for you to be home during this time.

If you have any questions, call Flow Assessment Services at 413-656-9799.
