Mission & History
The Goodwin Memorial Library offers residents of all ages the means to meet their recreational reading, viewing, and listening needs; a place to meet and interact with others in their community; support for students enrolled in local schools; the materials and support to know and better understand their personal or community heritage.

Brief History
The Goodwin Memorial Library serves a population of approximately 5000 Hadley residents. Descendants of Elder William Goodwin, one of Hadley's pioneers, and other friends and citizens of the Hampshire county town erected the current library building in 1902 in memory of Goodwin. The Goodwin Memorial Library was dedicated in 1903.

Is there a genealogy collection at the library?
Yes.  We are working to restore, re-house, and re-catalog our historical collection. This project includes preserving books with coverings or boxes, putting our collection online, and moving the books to a more useful location. This effort is being assisted by local history consultants and library school volunteers.
