TRIAD is a community policing initiative between seniors, law enforcement, and service providers to increase safety through education and crime prevention.  Its’ goals are to reduce criminal activity which targets older Americans, alleviate seniors’ fear of victimization, build confidence, improve the quality of life, and enhance delivery of law enforcement services to older persons.

TRIAD on the community level is implemented by a S.A.L.T. Council (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) which may be composed of seniors, police, the sheriff, the district attorney, the Council on Aging director, protective services personnel, and representatives of other community and civic groups.  The S.A.L.T. Council determines the particular needs of the individual community’s senior population as they relate to crime prevention and safety awareness and then coordinates activities to meet those needs.

As of March 2013 the Hadley TRIAD S.A.L.T. Council is under the leadership of Elsie Waskiewicz.  Meetings are held in the Council on Aging Conference Room on the second Thursday of the month at 9:30 A.M. with the exception of the months of January, February, July, and August.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings!
