Conservation Commission Policies

Application Submission Deadline

All applications must be
received by the Conservation Commission at least fourteen
days before the next meeting date.  Meetings are usually
held the second Tuesday of each month starting at 7:00 PM in
Room 203 at Town Hall.

Legal
Notice Fee

Every applicant to the
Hadley Conservation Commission is required to pay a fee of
$30.00 to cover the cost of the legal notice in the Daily
Hampshire Gazette announcing their hearing.  The applicant
should mail the check to
the Conservation Commission
, made payable to the
Daily Hampshire Gazette, with the application and plans, or
bring the payment to the Commission's public hearing.

Local Wetlands Bylaw
35' Setback

The Conservation Commission
has a bylaw requiring all applicants to maintain a 35
(thirty-five) foot No-Disturb zone from the edge of any
wetland or waterbody.

Compensatory Storage

Where compensatory storage
is not reasonably available on a lot, the Commission may
waive the compensatory storage requirement for no more than
one cubic yard.  Below that amount the applicant should try
to compensate for the loss of flood storage, if it is
possible on their property, and above that amount the
applicant must find or create the storage.
