Hydrant Flushing

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF HADLEY

The Hadley DPW will begin flushing water lines starting Monday May 2, 2011 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Flushing will take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to complete. All roads will be flushed including all subdivisions in North Hadley and Hadley. This flushing is to remove sedimentation from the water mains. Starting on April 25, 2011 we will be chlorinating the water to ensure that any released sediment is disinfected. Chlorination will be discontinued approximately one week after flushing is completed. Please check your water for discoloration and if discoloration appears, allow your water to run continuously for ten minutes and your water should clear. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hadley DPW, Water Division between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday at 586-8756.
